Spring has sprung!! It is hard to believe that Bella & Betty has been open for 3 months! I truly love what Bella & Betty is all about. I have met so many wonderful people, some local and some from places like India, Tunisia, France, Italy, California and Texas! West Chester really is a destination spot for tourists! Who knew??
Just a few highlights:
Bella & Betty recently transformed our windows from “Paris in Spring”….to… “Summer in Positano”. West Chester’s very own, Hannah Clark is our artist! Hannah is a 17 year old student at Rustin High School. It took her no time at all to sketch and paint an amazing cliff-side scene of Positano in one window, and their boats that line the shore of the Amalfi Coast on the other window, depicting a very familiar scene in Positano.
A few new artisans have joined Bella & Betty: Shea, who lives in Colorado, hand made beautiful cooper jewelry. Beth introduced Bella & Betty to beautiful hand painted pieces from Russia. Tammi and Hamdi, from Unieke.us brought us beautiful leather goods from Tunisia…so reasonably priced because Tammi and Hamdi know each and every artisan personally. The artisans have been handpicked because of their unique skill and craftsmanship. They also have the most beautiful hand painted leather lamps from Morocco. The Mane Lion has brought beautiful hand painted ceramics from Italy. John Robshaw has introduced us to beautiful textile duffel bags, dopp kits and totes from India. Bruce Mowday, our very own local author, has a few of his books available too! Lisa Loeb wrote a book about mama Carlino of Carlino’s Market titled “Wanna Taste”. Perfect for Mother’s Day!
As always and forever, we have The Ellie Rose, who has some of the most beautiful fabrics for baby accessories, little dresses and yes, little boy ties. Dopdop Design has new aprons and amazing vintage tote bags! Dopdop has also created pot holders and cloth napkins which did not last an afternoon in the boutique. Himalayan Candles will always have a place at Bella & Betty! Their candles are all natural soy based candles and smell amazing! Vagabond, with their elegant traditional, and new Crab summer fun serving pieces made of pewter. Vagabond items prices have been reduced, and only available while supplies last. Erbario, from Italy, made with Mediterranean Olive Oil. Cali, from Sicily, made with the citrus fragrance of the red blood orange which is indigenous to Sicily. Stephanie Johnson travel purses and cosmetic purses are now 30% off! Skarlatti Art Design…just a few pieces left! Beautiful hand forged sterling silver pieces from Maui designer, Karla Scarlatti. Bella & Betty is the only boutique who carries her designs in the Continental United States! Truly beautiful and unique. Twentytwentyseven – beautiful colorful flowers for your hair. The beads are all hand sewn! Perfect for summer! Cake Vintage and Cake Paper – paper place mats with beautiful designs and their summer fun design, “Crab Paper”. Silverstone Jewels sterling silver and argentium pieces that are perfect for Mother’s Day and an added accent to a summer dress. Lee is a local jewelry designer and displays her pieces in a few boutiques in Chester County. Maple Leaf, handmade cutting boards…great gifts for Weddings, anniversaries and graduates. These boards are all custom made, and engraved. En Shalla – handmade bags and purses from Morocco. I only have a few pieces left. Beautiful craftsmanship and all hand made by women from a village outside of Marrakesh. Honey House Naturals – Bee Bar, this amazing hand bar relieves the driest of skin! Soft, soothing, and all natural. Finally, last but not least, Bella & Betty’s own Turks Head Wash & Wax! Two soaps are curing as I write! Coffee and Orange soap, named Adams Street. Great for exfoliating as there are coffee grinds in the soap! The other soap…Lavender and Oatmeal, named “Lacey Street”. I will let you know when these two soaps hit the tables! I will be making a lemon soap next, just in time for summer!
I have decided to close on Monday’s for the summer, but don’t be surprised if you see Bella & Betty door open anyway! If my door is open…come on in!
