West Chester’s Community Chorus annual spring concert is quickly approaching! Come experience their performance of “What a Wonderful World”, accompanied by a special child’s choir.
The spectacular West Chester Area Community Chorus is presenting their annual spring concert on May 9th at 7pm. The 140 member choir will entertain all ages by performing the popular song, “What a Wonderful World,” with the incorporation of a child’s choir. Also featured in their performance are Broadway show tunes, inspirational anthems, atmospheric themes, and a medley from the Tony Award Winning show Ragtime.
The West Chester Area Community Chorus is a completely volunteer group, not a single director, accompanist, instrumentalist, or member is paid. The choir was established 18 years ago when many of the adults were seeking opportunities to sing without pressure. They soon turned into a “family” and more members continue to join every year. No auditions are required to join the chorus, just the pure enjoyment of singing.
The local group has performed at highlighted events throughout the year. In the summer the choir performed The National Anthem at the Phillies and the Wilmington Blue Rocks game. During the colder months, the choir engages in an annual winter concert and holiday caroling around the West Chester area.
The spring concert will be held on May 9th at 7pm at West Chester East High School auditorium, 450 Ellis Avenue, West Chester. For further information on advance tickets (admission is $5 at the door until sold out) or on joining the chorus, email the group at wcacommchorus@comcast.net or visit their website.
