On August 8th, downtown West Chester will be packed with excitement as the Annual Iron Hill Twilight Criterium returns to town. A 32-mile bike race showcasing pro and local cyclists will begin and end at the intersection of Gay and High Streets, outside of Iron Hill Brewery. The West Chester criterium is one of the most challenging and thrilling pro races to take place on the east coast.
Do not worry if you are not a pro-cyclist. There will be a variety of races throughout the evening, as well as activities for the whole family’s enjoyment. AAA plans to provide a Kid’s Zone to keep the little ones occupied throughout the night.
Starting at 4pm, Market Street will be holding a block party to kick off the evening. Bring the family down for entertainment, food, and face-painting. On Market and Walnut Streets at 5pm will be a children’s race. Then, the Amateur Men’s Criterium (6pm), the Pro-Am Women’s Criterium (6:45pm), and the Pro Men’s Criterium (7:45pm), which will start and finish at the corner of Gay and High Streets.
