Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Chester County presents one of the most cherished operettas of all time, The Mikado. The performance will include a full orchestra, outstanding costumes and a well-designed set. The story’s setting takes place at a Hibachi Restaurant with a modern twist on an old favorite.
“THE MIKADO is a hilarious comedy about love lost and found, complete with scandals, corrupt politicians, a joyous wedding, and a vengeful health inspector who is out for blood,” a description of the operetta by Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Chester County. The operetta will entertain the audience through exciting scenes and interesting characters, such as Nanki-Poo and Ko-Ko.
The performance will be take place at West Chester University’s Madeline Wing Adler Theatre located in the Swope Music Buliding. Performances are happening on: Thursday, January 28: 8:00 pm, Friday, January 29: 8:00 pm, Saturday, January 30: 2:00 pm & 8:00 pm and Sunday, January 31: 2:00 pm, followed by strike.
