With the presidential election rapidly approaching, now is the perfect time to dive into politics. West Chester University presents, “All’s Fair: Love, War, and Politics” on March 11th at 8pm. Speakers include two influential and extremely experienced political figures, James Carville (“The Ragin’ Cajun”) and Mary Matalin.
The duo, regardless of their opposing political views, is married with a family of their own. Their family is not their only accomplishment, both have previously worked for major political figures such as President Bill Clinton, President Ronald Reagan, President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney.
The pair also published two books together, Love & War: 20 Years, Three Presidents, Two Daughters and One Louisiana Home (January 2014) and All’s Fair: Love, War, and Running for President.
Known for her prominently conservative voice, Matalin also wrote Letters to My Daughters, her inside advice to her two daughters, which made both The New York Times and the Washington Post best-seller lists. Matalin previously hosted the Mary Matalin Show on CBS Talk Radio Network and is currently a commentator on the nationally syndicated radio program, Both Sides Now.
Carville co-authored the New York Times bestseller, It’s the Middle Class, Stupid!, with fellow Democratic strategist Stan Greenberg. Carville is also a successful columnist for The Hill newspaper, published daily when Congress is in session, and is a Professor of Practice at Tulance University in New Orleans.
The powerful duo’s appearance at West Chester University is part of the University’s President’s Speaker Series. The series brings nationally known personalities from fields including science, athletics, politics and journalism to the campus. Guests deliver an address followed by pre-arranged questions asked by University President Greg Weisenstein.
