Want the Broadway experience without traveling to New York? Broadway in the Borough combines the culture of live theatre with the West Chester community! Join the Sprout Music Collective tonight, as well as on the 4th Thursday of every month. Doors to the Sprout Music Collective open at 6p.m., with the show starting at 7p.m., and an after party at 8p.m.
This professional cabaret series produced by The Resident Theatre Company (RTC) at Sprout Music Collective in West Chester will cast the spotlight on singers from New York and Philadelphia who present an eclectic style of music from various Broadway productions.
Tonight’s Broadway in the Borough:
Tonight’s show will only feature one voice. Luke Grooms is an up-and-coming lead tenor, who is making his name at the Metropolitan Opera in New York for his role in Prokofiev’s “The Gambler.” He also appeared in the final tour of the original production of “The Phantom of the Opera,” as well as roles in various productions of “Les Miserables,” “Sweeney Todd,” and “Jerry Springer: The Opera at Carnegie Hall.” This October, Luke will participate in a Korean tour of “Jekyll and Hyde.”
Strengthening Community
Kristin McLaughlin Mitchell, founding artistic director of The Resident Theatre Company, stated that the audience is invited to interact with Broadway in the Borough’s performers every month at each after party.
“We feel this helps to strengthen the arts community in West Chester,” she said, “and provides our audiences with a truly unique experience.”
Sprout Music Collective is located at 130 East Prescott Alley. Purchase your tickets, or call 610-356-ARTS for more information.
