Just because it’s fall doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice color in your style! At H. Rose Boutique on West Gay Street, color has nothing to do with the changing of the seasons. I talked to Rachel, the owner, who picked out a bright royal blue jumpsuit for our model, Jazlyn to wear during the photo shoot a couple of weeks ago.
“A lot of times when it comes to fall, everyone goes back into reverting from color and I think it’s important to keep color going throughout all the seasons,” Rachel emphasized. “You can absolutely keep color flowing. I try to stay away from many grays and blacks because that is everyone’s go-to for fall and winter.”
“I’m definitely a jumpsuit person,” Rachel continued. “You get a really dramatic piece without it being overly elegant or too casual.”
And you can definitely see that in the photos. The jumpsuit allows for a lot of movement, while still being an outfit that you could wear out one night.H. Rose just celebrated its first anniversary this past April. While Rachel used to design H. Rose’s toddler brand, she’s moved away a little from that since her duties now focus more on running the boutique.
“We now have clothing for infants, toddlers, tweens, women’s, and plus sizes,” she said. “We’ve become multi-dimensional.”
Rachel attended the International Academy of Design in Tampa, Florida for fashion design and marketing and made her roots in West Chester.
“West Chester is definitely one of those thriving towns,” she said. “You’re also very supported by the Chamber of Commerce and all of the other businesses. It’s great the way they are constantly bringing people in for all the different events. I just felt it was a great place to launch.”
