One of the oldest boutiques I’ve encountered in West Chester, Jane Chalfant, circa 1933, was very fun for us to use during our photo shoot. Now an extension with Kiki Boutique, which was added to the company in 2003, you can trust both of these boutiques to house everything from light and casual clothes to more professional clothes. I personally spoke with Kiki about our outfit that Dianna wore: a pink mesh duster cover up, a red earthy fire top, black leggings, a Salma Lariat Hex necklace, and large contemporary silver hoop earrings.
“The outfit is colorful, lightweight, bohemian. And it’s trendy. It’s one of our favorite collections for fall and it’s made in California,” she said. “There’s a lot of attention to detail here.”
But one of the main elements that really makes Jane Chalfant and Kiki Boutique stand out among their competitors is how they don’t sell any products that are sold to department stores. So everything is made from the United States and Canada. Kiki Boutique is aimed more towards younger women, while Jane Chalfant aims more at older customers. Regardless, they both fit nicely into West Chester.
“I love West Chester and I want people to realize it’s not just a restaurant town,” Kiki said. “There are so many great boutiques in town and we feel that between all of us, we carry the best designers out there in today’s world. So I think we should be a destination for shopping as well.”
