Get ready to shop — Tish Boutique is hosting its annual Trunk Show to showcase PowerBeads by Jen this Sunday, November 19th, from 12pm to 4pm in their shop. At this event, Jen will be selling her signature PowerBeads bracelets, which are said to having healing and spiritual properties.
Five years ago, Jen, a Kennett Square native, was in a severe cycling accident when her friend gifted her with a Blessed Mary medal to speed her recovery and to wear when she continued cycling in her triathlons. She made a gemstone bracelet for herself and placed the medal on it. After making a couple of these bracelets for friends, the popularity of the PowerBeads picked up and now she sells her bracelets to roughly 130 boutiques. Jen uses vintage medals and holistic gemstones to provide people with the power of healing, positive energy, and serenity.
“She uses real glass stones,” said Ashley Tischler Darlington, one of the boutique’s owners. “And she can always switch the medals and beads upon request. She used to make more religious bracelets, but she also designs general ones for healing. We really love them all.”
Jen also produces necklaces along with her bracelets, but these necklaces are made out of old rosemary beads. She also can make custom orders if a customer has a medal they would like to put on a bracelet.
MaryAnn, one of the boutique’s employees, can’t help multiple styles of Jen’s designs.
“They give me a good, calm feeling,” she said. “Everyone wants to find strength or courage, and every customer we have believes in these healing properties. They’re fantastic and it’s great to support local businesses.”
