Settle in for some great beer and great music — Vinnie Paolizzi and his band are performing at Boxcar Brewpub this Wednesday, November 22nd, at 8:30pm. Featuring songs from Vinnie’s debut album, Waiting on Me, it’ll be a fun night for everyone.
Originally from West Chester and a proud alum of West Chester East High School, Class of 2012, Vinnie is excited to be playing where his roots lie.
“I used to go to Boxcar Brewpub and listen to performances in high school,” he said. “I had to get my hand stamped because I was under 21! So this definitely feels like a homecoming for me.”
Music had always resonated with Vinnie from a young age: he was always listening to his parents’ music and playing guitar and drums, which was mostly a self-taught feat. Vinnie had taken some guitar lessons when he was little from his uncle, but found he had an affinity for playing instruments.
“I got a lot of my musical inspiration from Bryan Adams and Bruce Springsteen, and I feel I have incorporated some of their talents into my own music.”
Playing a combination of rock, folk rock, folk, and country music, Vinnie has shaped the genres of his growing musical career with natural talent, and what he calls “indistinguishable determination and stubbornness.”
“You need to have those qualities to succeed in music,” Vinnie said. “If it’s hard for you and you’re passionate, it’s not as hard, just a little bit easier.”
Vinnie has toured with drummer, base player, keyboard player, and guitarist across most of the northeastern United States, as well as parts of California and Nashville, Tennessee. But there’s nothing like being back in West Chester.
“The night we’re playing is going to be one of the biggest in town, especially because it’s right before Thanksgiving,” Vinnie said. “West Chester has so much energy these days, it’s thrilling to be a part of that.”
