Purely Delicious
Fresh. Fast. Perfect.
There are many great eateries and restaurants in the downtown area, but there’s something about Pure Fire Pizza on 30 South High Street that makes them conspicuous. Here are a few reasons why you should try eating here for lunch and dinner.
Number 3: The Service
Inside the spacious and illuminated wooden room, customers are greeted by employees whose demeanors are as welcoming as the inviting, fire oven behind the counter. Today, I watched as Manager Matt Konnick chatted with customers as if he had known them for years, calling them by their first names and walking them through the step-by-step process of building a Pure Fire Pizza with unlimited toppings for one price. And if you have any suggestions for different toppings, they’ll work to amend their selection for you.
Number 2: Fast
Go ahead — time how long it takes for them to make your pizza. You’ll find it’s usually around 90 seconds, with the exception of specialty pizzas, like their cauliflower doughs, that take a longer time to bake. They place each, personal-sized pizza in the oven right in front of you and you can watch the pizzas rotating and cooking to delicious pies. But you’re not watching for long, of course — 90 seconds later, it’s in front of you in a comfortable booth illuminated by soft, afternoon light.
Number 1: The Food
West Chester has a lot of pizza joints, so what makes this one different? Maybe it’s the fact that most of their ingredients and doughs are gluten-free and you can’t even tell the difference between one with gluten and one without. Or maybe it’s the fresh quality of their ingredients. Whatever it is, watching Matt decorate these fresh and healthy pizzas today was like watching a painter color his canvas.
“It’s hard for me to say which kinds of pizzas I like to make because it changes every day,” Matt said. “For me, making these pizzas is a vehicle of different creations. I’m always learning what ingredients pair well together. Goat cheese and pesto sauce, for example — amazing!”
