Don’t let the snow keep you inside all day. Here are some of our ideas to stay warm and have fun today in West Chester.
Fenn’s Coffee: 111 North Church Street
There’s hardly any better way to warm up during this snowstorm with something from Fenn’s Coffee. This locally owned café serves steaming cups of coffee, tea, and of course, some delicious hot chocolate. I would recommend indulging in their hot chocolate today.
Sledding, Snowball Fights, and Snow Forts: anywhere
This deep, white snow is the perfect canvas for the classic snow day activities, like sledding, snowball fights, and building snow forts. Parks like Marshall Square and Everhart are great for playing in the snow today with your children, at no cost. Don’t forget to make snow angels before you leave! And if you’re feeling crafty, consider building a snow-person. Just remember to bring the carrots.
Yori’s Church Street Bakery: 15 North Church Street
When you’re walking around West Chester today, you may notice the aroma of delicious desserts wafting out of Yori’s Church Street Bakery. Stop in for some freshly baked cookies, cakes, and pies. I personally recommend their apple pie, it tastes amazing when it’s warm.
Second Reading I & II: 32 North Church Street and 929 South High Street
Snow days when the snow is quietly falling on the ground are the perfect days to enjoy reading a good book. The books from both Second Reading stores in West Chester are 100% donated and their proceeds will fund the programs and meals at the West Chester Senior Center. A majority of their workers are volunteers, and their store is completely focused on giving back to the community.
This snow day, enjoy doing activities within the West Chester community and supporting local businesses. Remember to be careful when you walk and drive today; be safe and have fun!
