Some of her most popular songs are “I Feel the Earth Move,” “A Natural Woman,” “It’s Too Late,” “So Far Away,” and “Beautiful.” The latter is the title of the smash-hit Broadway musical about a young Carole King rising up in the music industry, finding and losing love, and making a name for herself, producing the music that she wanted to produce with the record company she wanted.
Carole King’s legacy was firmly established with the release of “Tapestry.” Famous artists recorded covers of her songs. In 1971, James Taylor recorded “You’ve Got a Friend” and Barbara Streisand recorded “Where You Lead.”
