Before you spend your time at corporate chains, consider a few local shops.
It’s easy when you’re in rush to just stop in quickly at a sub-par coffee shop to get your caffeine fix. But before you subject yourself to cheap, burnt coffee, break your habit and try some of these downtown coffee shops.
Located on North Church Street, Fenn’s Coffee is a cozy, quiet haven amid the workday rush. It’s an excellent place to catch up on some work and study, and they have delicious, freshly brewed coffee selections, as well as various kinds of hot tea. They also hold open mic nights on the upper level for reading poetry and prose.
It’s hard to resist the smell of fresh, hot coffee coupled with the sweet scent of baked cupcakes. On South High Street, you can sit in any one of Dia Doce’s eclectic tables and chairs next to wide windows that offer a lot of light and a full view of the street beyond. Dia Doce’s cupcake varieties change daily, but you’ll still be able to try the same cupcake twice the next time it’s made.
West Chester Coffee & Ice Cream Bar
If it’s too cold for you to eat ice cream, you can immediately warm yourself up with a cup of coffee. On East Gay Street, this shop’s mix of half booths and high tables offer a relaxing atmosphere for any time of day. You can load up a waffle cone with some coffee-flavored ice cream while you enjoy a large cup of coffee served by some of the friendliest employees in downtown.
There are many different coffee shops in West Chester that we enjoy, so use our list as a good starting point while you visit every cozy coffee shop.
