Residents and visitors alike can all enjoy everything spring has to offer in West Chester.
It’s not technically spring, I know, but there’s a lot to look forward to this month — we get an extra hour of daylight on March 11th and March 20th marks the first day of spring. So for all intents and purposes, I consider March a spring month. And with spring comes so many exciting and refreshing things to do in West Chester, things you might have forgotten about when you burrowed indoors during the winter. Here’s what you can expect.
New Boutique Selections
We have a bunch of small, locally owned boutiques in West Chester that will soon be changing their winter styles to spring. Expect lighter colors and fabrics, and floral pattern galore. Just when your wardrobe was starting to look drab from months of wearing sweatshirts and old sweaters, you can now refresh your wardrobe with some new spring fashions.
Events
Tomorrow, on March 2nd, it’s our first First Friday of the year! This is the perfect way for you to get a hold the latest boutique arrivals, as well as stop by our other wonderful downtown shops. And on March 3rd, get ready for West Chester’s 9th Annual Celtic Crawl from 12-6pm. And starting March 30th, you can see “Bullets Over Broadway” by the Resident Theatre Company at Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center. The West Chester BID offers a complete list of events you can expect this March for you to check out.
The Weather
Sounds pretty basic, but trust me, there’s nothing like spring weather. Of course, I don’t get spring allergies, so there’s a plus. But I love sitting in any of West Chester’s coffee shops and listening to the rainfall, or taking a walk through Everhart and Marshall Square Parks on a crisp, sunny day when you can see flower pedals blowing in a light breeze. And it smells wonderful too! Taking a walk downtown is just as much an activity as anything else because our borough is beautiful.
And that’s a fact.
