The much-anticipated production is now open at Uptown!
Based on Woody Allen’s 1994 hit film by the same name, The Resident Theatre Company ‘s “Bullets Over Broadway” opens tonight, March 30th, at 7pm at Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center. It will run until April 15th.
Overview
The year is 1928. David Shayne, a young playwright in New York City has his sights set on Broadway. He’s constantly searching for ways to finance his new play, “God of Ours Fathers,” and ends up having his play financed by a gangster. Now, that gangster, Cheech, and his actress girlfriend, Olive Neal, are playing the lead roles in his play.

RTC takes Woody Allen’s hilarious film about a young playwright in 1928 getting his first Broadway play financed by a gangster and adapts it to a musical. When this play premiered in New York City’s Broadway in 2014, it received six Tony nominations.
Now, you don’t even have to travel to New York City when you have the sounds and high-quality level of Broadway in your own backyard!
This musical features notable 1920s hits, including “Let’s Misbehave,” “‘Tain’t Nobody’s Biz-ness If I Do” and “There’s a New Day Comin’!”
