Tilted Axes is holding a special fundraising event, February 2nd — to support the research of ending Neurofibromatosis Type 2.
NF2 Biosolutions is the host of the event and the company in charge of this great cause. Their mission is to accelerate gene therapy research on Neurofibromatosis Type 2 (NT2). NF2 is a rare genetic disorder, that results in the growth of multiple tumors throughout the peripheral and central nervous systems. The cause of these horrific tumors is a defect of the NF2 gene. Many patients who have this disorder often become blind, deaf, or even lose their ability to walk.
A new medical discovery, called gene therapy has become a possibility in solving many genetic disorders and medical conditions. NF2 Biosolutions supports funding more research about this gene therapy treatment, along with clinical trials for NF2. Time is not a luxury for these patients — NF2 Biosolutions moves quickly, to find the help they need to end this nightmare.
Tickets are on sale online — there will be food, cocktails, and beverages included in the ticket price of $55. Additional items will also be up for auction. If you can’t make it out to the event and still want to show support, you can donate towards the cause on their website. There is also an opportunity to bid in the Silent auction from home. The fun will start at 6pm lasting until 10pm.
