August 1
West Chester Swing Kings
If you like swing music, you’re gonna love the West Chester Swing Kings. Come out at 7pm and listen to a 19-piece band with a large repertoire of music from the golden years by such artists as Glenn Miller, Woody Herman, Tommy Dorsey, Count Basie and Duke Ellington, as well as more recent tunes by artists like James Brown, Brian Setzer, and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. Hosted at East Bradford Park.
August 6
National Night Out Against Crime
National Night Out Against Crime has been hosted by the West Chester Police Department since 2013 and is an evening for the community to show support against crime and violence. Residents express solidarity by locking up their dwellings, turning on a porch light and coming into town to participate in a street festival with the community, first responders and law officials.
August 8
The West Chester Mile
Run the West Chester Citizen’s Mile on Henderson High School’s track, following with watching America’s fastest elite distance runners. After the race, Hotel Warner will have an after party and enjoy some free pizza, wings, and drink specials. You must be 21 years old to attend the after party. Registration tickets are $20 for adults, and $10 for kids who want to run the 400 meter race. Spectator tickets available for $5. The race starts at 6:30pm.
Harvest Dinner at Faunbrook Bed & Breakfast

August 9
Chess – The Musical
The Bravo Theater Company will be performing “Chess the Musical” featuring The Chester County Pops. Music by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, and Lyrics by Tim Rice. Performances will be on August 9-11. Tickets can be found on their website along with the show times.
August 10
Benchmark Twilight Cycling Classic
The Twilight Cycling Classic is one of downtown West Chester’s largest and most thrilling events. Cheer for the professionals in the Iron Hill Pro Men’s Criterium and the Brumbaugh Wealth Management Pro Women’s Criterium as they zip through the streets at speeds topping 40 miles per hour. Amateur racers can take part in the Rothman Institute Amateur Criterium.
